2006 HALL "Portrait" Cabernet Sauvignon Dessert Wine

Inaugural Release!
The 2006 HALL “Portrait” Cabernet Sauvignon Dessert Wine marks the debut release of this limited production port-style wine. Grapes exclusively sourced from our Sacrashe vineyard are transformed through time-honored techniques to an ambrosial fortified wine. During fermentation, we extract all the intense color, soft tannins and beautiful fruit from the grape skins. We fortify the fermenting juice with natural grape spirits, intentionally halting the fermentation process. The result is a rich, unctuous wine that is delightful now, and can afford considerable aging, potentially up to 15 years.

This wine expresses ripe plum, sweet balsamic reduction, citrus blossoms, cedary spice and rose petal aromatics. The exceptionally lush texture embraces flavors of dried black fruits, cassis, caramel, and leafy tobacco. The 2006 HALL “Portrait” can be savored alone as an aperitif or digestive—or prove to be a perfect complement to many cheeses or desserts.
